About Me

My photo
Here is a glimpse of what I do and love... my family and social networks. I have been a social worker for 17 years. I love scrapbooking, camping, being creative and most of all my life as a mom.

Down to one car

Well, today we turned our Ford F-150 in, it was a lease. Ken said that he was just as excited to turn it in as the day he brought it home. I think since the gas prices have been higher lately and that in the last week of getting closer to dropping it off, he was stressed about it. So it is over and now we are down to one car. I am still a little disappointed, but I know it is for the best. We will manage and it will be a blessing not having a large gas bill and no car payments!

As for any fun activities... well, we have been to the water park 2 times this week. Hawk Island Park where we will have Cody's birthday party and he knows it. He is excited about his MONSTER TRUCK birthday. He even picked out the pinata already and wants Monster Trucks on his cake! or Tractors, depending on his mood or what we see in the store at the time.

Brady is teething with several coming through at once. He is getting around the house well enough that it looks like he is crawrunning! He even knows when the back door or the gate to the basement is open... he is right there from the other room. He wants to be where the action is.

Cody is taking a Sports Skills class and so far, seems to enjoy it. He looks like the youngest in the class, but keeps right up there with the bigger kids. Monday they learned volleyball techniques and today was tumbling. He goes next Monday and Wednesday. Then I think we are going to get him in some swimming lessons. He loves the water! Hmmm, I think I have mentioned that before... just like his mother! Brady is also starting to like the water more and more too. He is splashing any chance he gets. I hope he loves the water too and learns not to eat the sand! Yuck!

Cody is very interested in the surroundings and we play "I spy" in the car. We are usually looking for tractors or other large machinery! Today, I said "I spy a brown delivery truck, UPS", He replied, "Poncho would bark at that truck", and he barked like Poncho did. WE miss Poncho. We talked about how we missed Poncho and maybe we would like another dog someday. I asked what color? "Brown, a big dog." He said. "Like, Sasha, Grandma and Grandpa's dog?" "Yes, I like Sasha, I miss her too." Sasha is a black lab and she is still around, we just do not see her all that much.

I must say, today was a beautiful day and I am thankful for the sunshine in our lives! What is the sunshine in your life today? Here is a photo I took 2 years ago of a daisy in our yard. Enjoy!
