Bummer!

Well this is my friends word as I noted my status on facebook! She commented on my status as Bummer! That is my thought exactly as I had to call Ken to inform him that the minivan was not driving right and something was seriously wrong. Thankfully we made to the parking lot at the Doctor's office for Brady's appointment.

I was driving along and all was good, kids were laughing and enjoying the ride, we left early, had our lunch packed so we could go to a special place after the appointment (probably the Impression 5).... then all of a sudden I hear a weird noise (like loose change in your pocket) then as I looked back something rolling away from the van and thought well it was probably some loose snow or something. Then I get off at my exit and the steering was difficult like no power steering! I was able to stop and make my turn, but still no steering. Flash backs to when I drove the 1964 Ford Falcon that was our car when I started driving!... So I thought I can do this and turned with all my strength. I made it to the next stop light and very difficult next turn. I turned on the street for the dr. office and the van hardly would go forward, it was making another clunking jerking sound with no acceleration. I began to worry. Luckily we left in time and had a few minutes to spare! God was driving this time. I was able to make it in to the parking lot and into a parking space somehow! We are all ok, not sure about the minivan. We had it towed to an auto place and we have not heard the results.

I do have to laugh a little.... since Cody is so funny lately, he made me laugh. He was in a good mood and excited about going to the special place as was I... he said when the van was clucking and jerking "that is a funny sound, mom, and I like that bumping" as we went along, and I am trying not to sound nervous! Just have to laugh.

As far as the Dr. appointment... that was perfect. It was a physical checkup for Brady who is planning to have a few tests on Feb. 3. in Grand Rapids. The dr. said she was impressed with his growth and "he even looks more his age!" She reports he is doing great and is also glad he has not had any more hospital stays! (cross our fingers!) The tests are of his esphagous and lungs. So hopefully those results will be good too. Please pray for him and us as we have this done. He will have to be sedated but hopefully, not hospitalized.

Another interesting thing we have had going on... a herd of deer right in our front yard and back yard! Being we live in MI, and there is snow everywhere, and temps have been in the -zeros! This is kind of cool, to see them coming right up to the trees and bushes to find food. I will post some photos soon!

Well, that about rounds it up! Happy Winter!
