Well here it is the end of the week, and as Cody would say "IT is a long day/week, mom". What does that tell you ... that I am just worn out and so are the kids. But we will prevail and continue on to make it the best day.
Here are some highlights from this week, if I can remember them!
Horseback riding went well on Monday. We are getting ready for VBS at First United Methodist Church next week. I will be teaching the 4 yr olds! So we spent part of the week decorating the room. It is Crocidle Doc and the setting is a bayou. Should be fun, just lots of preparations. Please pray for me as a leader and that God will work in the staff and children we minister to. God is awesome, all the TIME!
It has been a good week as well for the 5 day club we were invited to attend. It is a backyard VBS/evangelism program put on by the Children Evangelism Fellowship. Cody has been the only child other than one other girl the first day. So for him, it has been good. He went by himself yesterday as I had some groceries that needed to be put away. He even requested to go by himself so he could listen to the teacher! He said the bible verse and sang the songs all by himself! I just about cried when I heard him say John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in HIM, shall have everlasting life." I remember going to vbs, and backyard bible classes when I was young, and it just touched my heart to see him enjoying it too.
Last weekend we spent friday at Somerset Beach Campground with Ken and Cody. Then after the pancake breakfast they left to go see "old" grandpa and grandma, uncle Phil and cousin David. Brady and I stayed at the campground to enjoy the rest of the family camp. We played games at the Family Carnival. Then we took a nap and had a wonderful dinner with our friends the LaRue's. We went to church in the evening. Sunday church again and packed up and headed home after a relaxing day.
On my way home, I stopped by to see my brother and sister-in-law's new house being built. It is totally amazing to see how much has already been done, and how much more to go. It is a beautiful home.
Now this weekend will be full of more activities... First thing in the morning I will be helping with a Family Fun Event that is sponsored by the Eaton Rapids Early Childhood Advocates. In
case you or someone you know has kids ages birth through Kindergarten, this will be a fun event from 10-noon by the playground at Union Street Center. It is free, and every child will receive a free book. For more info, go to www.ereca-fun.org.
Then it is on to our nephew Gabe's 7th birthday party in Ypsilanti. Military theme and we are looking forward to celebrating with him! Then we are going to Ken's parents to stay the night for Ken's dad's birthday party on sunday! So we are full of going going going. All for special moments to cherish! Then VBS next week! See you later.
Enjoy the photos from last weekend and this week.
