HomeTown Christmas

Today we spent the day in Eaton Rapids... We had a wonderful day and enjoyed the festivities of our HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS!!! I got to sleep in as did the rest of our family. We got up and had home made waffles and scrambled eggs. Then got ready to see Santa again... at lunch with Santa. We made crafts, at pizza, and decorated a cookie. Cody was more interested in the crafts and cookie than Santa.. until he decided to color a picture and then give it to Santa. Then he wanted to color another one and give it to Santa, and I think he did that 3 more times! Cody also watched some other boy do it. Then he watched some other kids hoping on the shuffle board thing, and he did it too.

After that we went for a ride to get him to sleep for a little while. He slept for about hour. Then we went to library in town to see our next special person.... Clifford the Big Red Dog!!! Since Cody just woke from his nap he was a little slow at responding but seemed to at least like the story time and watching Clifford from the distance. Then Brady woke up and he got his picture taken with Clifford since Cody did not want too.

Then we went home to get warmed up. We ate some dinner... then because it was getting colder and starting to snow, the boys stayed home. I on the other hand took the opportunity to go back into town for the Hometown Parade down main street. Like I said it was starting to snow and get really cold! But I love it and had a great time watching the parade and having a break! It made me thankful the boys were at home keeping warm (Ken even said he was glad to be at home in the warmth with his jammies on!). I love the wonderful music and seeing the lights of the parade and of course... Santa. There was even a float of the Nativity that just put things into perspective too. The reason we celebrate this time of the year... JESUS. As we have been driving around looking at the lights... we see many Santa's and Snowmen/families etc... but not many "baby Jesus" but when we do... I take that opportunity to give Cody the story of Christmas as well as talk about traditions and things that are important to our family. We love looking at the lights and Cody loves seeing them too. "More please" and will talk about it as we drive away. My response when he asks for more, I say "keep your eyes open and watch for more lights" ... he says "I see some over there" and sure enough a house has a lighted tree inside or outside etc. It is a fun to hear how Cody has many words and loves to talk about his environment!!!

Brady is 8 months old in just a few days.... and just as happy as can be. So far we are all staying healthy with a little sniffle or slight cough.

Tommorrow we head to Ken's brother's house for a birthday party for our niece Rachael who turns 8. So that is going to be fun. Keep posted as to the upcoming events of our family... there will be more visits with Santa and don't forget, the Nativity will be soon! Have a happy week!
