Today was a fun day. I was off since i have to work on Sat. So we got up and got ready for the day. It is a good day when things seem to fall into place and especially if Cody is cooperative at getting ready. This was the case today. I must say, incentives do work. We went to Toddler Time at our church. It is a fun time to sing silly songs, learn about new things, and read books, do craft projects, play and socialize with other little tikes (and moms or grandmas and sometimes dads). Cody really got into the stories and songs today. He is learning his colors and it is fun to see him recite colors and even respond to the song with out prompting.
Afterwards we came home and had a little lunch and then took a nap. Cody fell asleep so I thought great, now I can too, well I did after I got Brady to sleep 45 minutes later! So I got to rest for about an hour too.
Ken came home early to enjoy the afternoon with us. So we piled in the car and headed out on a family adventure. We ended up going to a place called "Mooville" in Nashville, MI. It is a big dairy farm that makes some great milk and homemade creamy ice cream. They have a petting farm with bunnies, chickens, goats, calves, ducks and a pig (Fredie was not around today). We thought Cody would love to see the animals and he did but was so much more interested in ... you guess it, TRACTORS! They are very family friendly and have thought about children.... there was a wonderful sand play area with lots of tractors and sand toys. This is where Cody enjoyed hanging out while I went and fed the goats and cows. I had fun and showing Brady the animals. The cows were adorable as a cow could be. They came over to the fence and one of them licked my hand with its big tongue.. it was tickling my hand and arm and licking my shorts. The goats were very hungry and decided to make sure they would get all the grain and ice cream cone the grain was in(pretty clever!). Cody also loved getting on the real tractors that are on display.
Then we went and got some ice cream and boy was it delicious! So creamy and the best I have had around. Cody played some more inside with the tractor toys meant just for that. We bought 2 little pumpkins and came home. The evening was fun being around together as a family. We did baths and then just spent time playing, reading and snuggling. I am so thankful to have spent the day with my boys.
Now tomorrow I have to work and Ken will be home with the boys. We tried getting a babysitter or at least some help from family. However, the plans fell thru and so I know Ken can do it and hopefully he can be creative in managing both of them. I know he can do it.
I will post more pictures from our trip to Mooville later. I must go and get some sleep. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
