Fun in August!

Highlights from August 2008:

Well this month we have enjoyed celebrating with Cody as he turned 3. There was the night we went to Caesarland as our own little family party on a friday night. However, the boys must have picked up a cold from that place, and I must say, it was not the cleanest place. I do not recommend it. At least the one we went too.

Then we had the Big Family party. Cody is still talking about the monster truck pinata and the water park. Cody is riding a bike with training wheels, and his helmet of course. He also got to sit/drive a Dump truck!

Other things we have enjoyed, the John Ball zoo in Grand Rapids. We got to ride a camel. Cody and I really enjoyed it. Cody reports that it was a bumpy ride! The monkeys and lions were pretty cool too.

Another first for Cody (and Brady and mom and dad) was riding on a old fashioned train. www.michigantransitmuseum.org/ We took the train in Mt. Clemens, into Selfridge Military Base to the Air museum where Grandpa Andy is a volunteer. We have been to the museum previously, but this time was fun because of the train ride and we went with Uncle Phil and cousin David, and Grandpa Andy & Grandma Shirley. Cody and David really had a great time together. It was a beautiful day.

Brady just loves bubbles, I think I have mentioned that before. So we have invested in a few different bubble makers which make for outside fun! Then there is the old fashioned way, of just blowing them too!

Brady is crawling everywhere, and even onto the dishwasher! And up the stairs, and even fell down the first few stairs a couple of weeks ago.

We have gone swimming at various places. Brady is starting to enjoy the water more and more! I am so happy and excited to see him do that too.

We got to see Aunt Evie, Uncle Kevin and cousins Cameron and Gabriel and they watched the boys for us so we could enjoy a little anniversary getaway for at least one night! We also went to a wedding of a life long friend Erin. IT was a beautiful wedding and reception. I will post those pictures another time.

We spent time with some friends the Coopers. Whittney or "Whit Whit" as Cody calls her, and her sister Natasha helped watch Cody and Brady on a few occasions. They are also great helpers around the house, cleaning. We enjoy their company and friendships.

The boys will be starting a music class at Michigan State University School of Music. This is going to be fun and something they can do together, yet have separate time with the instructor too. Keep posted for photos and hopefully some videos of their big performance!!!

I have been working on the Buddy Walk for Down syndrome Awareness. The donations are coming in and a big thanks to those who are so supportive!!! Another area I am focusing on is being the newly appointed (I volunteered) as the New Member Coordinator for the Capital Area Down Syndrome Assoication! I am so excited to be doing something I enjoy, helping others.

I should mention, Ken is enjoying his carpool. So far it is working out and the person he car pools with is expecting! So hopefully she can continue after the baby is born.

We are going camping this weekend at Somerset Beach Campground and looking forward to seeing friends, going swimming, and maybe a boat ride, a hay ride or fishing and hiking, and of course campfires!

Happy end of the summer and Happy Labor Day! Enjoy the pictures from August 2008.
