Well we are enjoying our holiday weekend. I must say that our family is beginning to feel that the holidays are meant to be sick. We have been home all week with colds and upper respiratory infections. So that meant that on Thanksgiving we stayed home to keep the germs to ourselves. We did not have any turkey, but I made a wonderful potato soup and added some chicken to it. I also had enough stuff to make a pumpkin pie and it was a wonderful day. I spent most of it in the kitchen baking. I was able to get some movies so we could just be a family.
I was not able to get a family photo, but we did take a few of each other! The pumpkin pie was a hit with Ken and Brady and myself, not so much with Cody, he liked the chocolate covered pretzels though!
Things I am thankful for this year are:
H - A warm HOME
A - Applesauce - the homemade kind
P - Parents, who never stop caring and praying for you
P - People who care and are close to us, even if you don't see each other often
Y- Yearly traditions, even when they change
T - Time with my boys
H - Happiness that comes with being a parent and a wife/husband
A- Attitude
N- Never-ending joy from God and others
K- Kindness that has been shown to our family in so many ways this year
S- Silliness that just makes you laugh
G- Grace
I- Insurance that covers most of the medical expenses
V- Victory in Jesus
I - Invaluable moments, all of which I hope to remember for years to come
N- Notable changes each day the boys are making as they grow up
G- Gratitude for all that I have been given
I hope each of you take a moment to think and say what you are thankful for today. I have a lot to be thankful for and today, I am thankful to be a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hugs and Best wishes to all!
